9, 11
(by Darakshan Malik. 12 years old. I live in Mason, Ohio, USA. I will be starting my Middle School years at Mason Middle School. )
When I was in school something happened that was not cool
In the year of 2001 the twin towers and the pentagon were done!
While relatives were dieing their families were crying
When smoke was in the air loved ones were in care.
Some people were worried others were in a hurry
The traffic was stuck what bad luck.
The firefighters were there and also the mayor
Few were mad others were sad.
The wind was blowing sadness was growing
After all these years people are still in fear
The terrorists attack we hope they don't come back.

Principal
(by Aelia Zaidi. Class 10 student at Fazaia Inter College Malir Cannt, Karachi, Pakistan)
The Principal of our college
Is a man of principles.

His aim is to maintain
Unity, faith and discipline.

He comes to our class at any time
In order to punish the naughty children.

Sometimes he starts checking our bags
In order he can get a checker's tag

He wants to make it a cadet college
By ordering us to clean the college

He comes in the assembly during recitation
And starts checking students with no hesitation.

He listen to us with full concentration
In order to stop our sensation.

He wants to make it a better college
Where students only come to get the knowledge.

He is a very good principal
I have never seen such a man of principles.

A flying bean
(by Urooj. 7 years old from Lahore, Pakistan)
A bean escaped from the pan
and flew across the kitchen
like Superman.

It ping-ponged back and forth
between the oven and the freezer.
Then it shot up to the ceiling
like a daredevil trapeezer.

I tried and tried to catch it,
but it never missed a trick.
So finally I gave up
and ate a licorice stick.

Soft Sis.
(by Qasim khan. 5 years old from Karachi, Pakistan)
As soft as a pillow
As rosy as an apple's flower
As sweet as a strawberry
It is my younger sister after she took a shower.

Waiting
(by Unknown. 20 years old from Karachi, Pakistan)
Early morning dew,
In a place i once knew.
The sun glistens on the leaves,
Telling stories about rainbows.

For myself to believe,
Sheltering from the rain.
Knowing the pain,
That i might get from you.

You're somebody,
I thought i knew.
The memories,
Stick like glue.

Few don'ts
(by Jasmine. 11 years old from UAE)
Don't touch,
Don't stare,
Don't steal,
Don't cheat,
Don't talk loudly.
Don't put down others,

Don't scream,
Don't yell,
Don't run,
Don't tell all this to other.

My Dog
(by Rohail. 6 years old from Karachi, Pakistan)
Today my father brought me a dog
We're going to call him Ranger
I know I'm going to love him lots
This is not a maybe

He's sweet and soft and smells
So good
His eyes are blue and nice
My Mother says when he gets big
That he will catch some cat

My Mother
(by Sarah. 7 years old from Islamabad, Pakistan)
You are always there for me,
No matter where I go,
No matter what I do.

You are always there for me,
Even when I trip and fall,
You pick me up and set me on my feet again.

You are always there for me.
Because you are my mother.

Nature
(by Huma. 10 years old from Lahore, Pakistan)
A rose is a kind of flower.
God made it elegantly.
Sometimes I climb trees.
I don't like to get stung by bees.
I see many kinds of butterflies
When I look up at the sky.
I like to play in the sun.
Playing in nature is allot of fun!

Change
(by Shela. 18 years old from Karachi, Pakistan)
Change can be good and change can be bad,
Change can bring happiness or can make you sad,
Change can be difficult to understand,
Why a someone has to move or why good things are banned,
Why loved ones are lost by a youth's bad decision,
Or why his poor soul just can't be forgiven.

But God has a way of making the world go round,
And change is one of many things He has bound
In our little book of life that He keeps dear to his side,
Just so that when we are scared we won't have to hide.

He'll stay with us through good times and bad,
He'll calm us down when we are mad,
And when change comes upon us He will be there,
He will comfort us and He will care.

Don't be afraid of change, just be clever,
You know that nothing can stay the same forever.

I'm sorry for the thing I did.
I wish I were a wonder kid.
I wish that I could make you glad.
I love you so, my wonder Dad.
