Can I appear in DOH GP exam after internship?
No. As per the updated Unified Healthcare PQR(Professional Qualification Requirements), candidates are required to have at least 2 years of clinical experience post internship.
What is clinical experience post-internship?
Clinical experience means full-time practice in direct patient care under a valid license/registration, in a recognized healthcare facility, in a role relevant to the GP title. Non-clinical work, research or purely teaching roles typically do not count.
What if my clinical practice has a gap?
Gaps in practice may trigger additional requirements, such as proof of Continuing Medical Education (CME), refresher training or supervised clinical work. DOH policies emphasise recent clinical experience for safe practice.
