Karachi, April 22, 2008: The University of Karachi (KU) has announced the results of MBBS
Second Professional annual examination-2008. Sania, Rozmeen Shoaib and Zohaib
Fazal, all from Jinnah Medical and Dental College secured first, second and
third positions respectively. According to the KU statistics the pass percentage
was 73.06.
Bomb hoax at examination centre
A bomb hoax created panic among the students of the Liaquat National College of
Management Sciences, some of whom were giving their final exams.
The New
Town police station said that an anonymous man called a college employee,
Sohail, at 11.55 a.m. threatening that a bomb had been planted somewhere in the
institution. The administration immediately informed the police helpline
Madadgar-15 about the threat and the area police officials rushed to the
scene.
The college building was vacated by the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS)
and police while the students were giving their exams. After searching every
nook and corner, they announced the call to be a hoax. Employee Sohail said that
over 200 students were present inside the college and some of them were giving
their final year exams, which were interrupted by the hoax. The News
