PU to hold MBBS exam from 16th
Lahore, April 04, 2008: Punjab University on Thursday announced to hold MBBS Professional-III
(Re-Organized and New Re-Organized Scheme) Supplementary Examination 2007, from
April 16.The University will also hold Doctor of Pharmacy (D-Pharm)
Professional-IV Annual Examination 2007, from April 17 to May 2, 2008. Meanwhile
Punjab University Examination Department declared results of MSc Physics
(Semester System) Session 2005-2007 and BSc Applied Geology Professional-I
Annual Examination 2006, here on Thursday. In MSc Physics, 46 candidates
appeared in the exam and all of them declared successful. While, in BSc Applied
Geology, out of the total 17 candidates 14 were declared successful. The results
are also posted on PU web site www.pu.edu.pk. F.P Report
Psychology moot starts at GCU
Lahore: The activities of the 10th National Conference on Clinical
Psychology started at the Government College University (GCU) on Thursday.
According to a press statement four workshops were arranged on Thursday
including workshop on "Healing through Hypnosis" addressed by a clinical
psychologist Maqbool Babari. The second workshop was addressed by Asma Ayub on
the topic "Management of Depression". Nauman Qureshi addressed the third
workshop on "A Mini Marathon" while Rubina Mehmood addressed the fourth workshop
on "Stress Management".
UCP convocation on 5th
Lahore: The sixth convocation of the University of Central Punjab is scheduled to be held on
April5. According to a press statement a total number of 616 graduating students
from four faculties of UCP shall be attending the ceremony, of which 36 position
holders shall be awarded distinctions while Roll of Honour shall be conferred
upon four 4 students. Governor Punjab Lt Gen (retd ) Khalid Maqbool will be the
chief guest while Barrister Shahida Jamil will be the Guest of Honour. The News
Emergency Unit opened at PU Health Centre
Lahore: Punjab University (PU) Vice Chancellor (VC) Dr Mujahid
Kamran inaugurated an Emergency Unit at the university's Health Centre on
Thursday.
Dr Kamran said that the Health Centre would provide the latest
medical facilities to all students, teachers and employees.
The VC said
that the completion of the centre's extension projects would be prioritised. He
added that the Emergency Unit would stay open round the clock.
PU Chief
Medical Officer Dr Farasat Ali Syed said the centre catered to about 700
patients every day to diseases that ranged from seasonal illnesses to critical
diseases like cancer.
The Health Centre, he said, also established units
for special care and treatment of tuberculosis (TB), diabetes and hepatitis
patients, adding that more than 600 diabetic patients had so far been
registered. Dr Syed said that a comprehensive plan was being implemented to
control hepatitis. He said that the Health Centre had established a special TB
Centre in collaboration with the Punjab TB Control Programme and successfully
treated 95 patients. App
