KU announces result of all delayed examinations
Karachi, April 21: The University of Karachi has announced all the delayed results
of private and regular examinations as per directive of the KU Vice
Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Qaisar, said a statement issued here on
Friday. The Vice Chancellor has further directed the controller of
examinations to acquire a proper strategy for timely announcements of
results. It is imperative that within a period of one month all delayed
results of MA (Final) private and regular Urdu, Economics, Islamic
Studies, Political Science etc had been announced. Daily times

Another SSC exam centre closed
Karachi: The Board of Secondary Education Karachi
has closed yet another Secondary School Certificate examination centre,
established at the Norwegian Government Boys Secondary School, Azam
Basti, Mehmoodabad, Jamshed Town, allegedly for mismanagement and no
check on candidates using unfair means during exams. The board also
asked the director of schools to take action against the centre
superintendent for non-compliance with BSEK directives.
A senior board official said on Friday that the candidates registered
at the school centre would report to the Government Boys Secondary
School-2, Block-6, PECHS, for future examinations.
Earlier, the board had closed one centre each in Orangi and Nazimabad towns. Dawn

Rooms for PU faculty
Lahore: Punjab University (PU) Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran inaugurated
newly constructed female faculty rooms and a common room for them at PU
College of Information Technology (PUCIT) on Friday. He visited the
rooms and said PUCIT was the best IT College in the country. The female
faculty members thanked VC for providing them facilities and good
academic environment.

Call to fill GCU posts
Lahore: Government College University's Academic Staff Association (GCU-ASA) has demanded
filling of vacant posts of deans on immediate basis. It
also demanded as long as temporary arrangement was concerned the acting
charge of Dean of Sciences and Dean of Humanities must be given to
senior faculty member from the concerned faculty. The
demands were highlighted in a recent general body meeting of the GCU-ASA
which was attended by a large number of faculty members. GCU-ASA
also demanded that the continuation of retired personnel against
administrative posts should be stopped. The retired senior faculty
should be made Professors Emeritus and the Chairs in Economics, Urdu and
Botany should also be filled. The faculty members also
expressed concern over the recently held selection boards meeting,
demanding fresh advertisement should be made within one month in
consultation with the departments, so that the process of promotion and
selection was fairly completed. They also demanded that
PhD/MPhil allowance should be brought at par with other universities
while paper marking remuneration of MPhil allowance must be at par with
other self-sustaining programmes.
