KEMU wins debating championship
LAHORE, April 17(Daily Times): The King Edward Medical University (KEMU) on Monday won
trophies for English and Urdu parliamentary debates on the concluding day of the
competition. The competition was organised by the Government College University
(GCU).
The proposits for the debates were The Clash of Civilisation's is
Nothing but a Hypothesis' and The West Needs to Change its Approach Towards
Islam. Muhammad Umer Farooq of Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Technology (GIK)
was declared the best Urdu speaker. Shaheer Zulfiqar from the KEMU was given the
best speaker award in English debates. GCU debater Tariq Saeed Haroon was the
chief guest on the occasion. Tariq said, "When I was a student the GC used to be
the hub of debating activities."
