Federal Board announced HSSC-Part II results, Girls top positions
HSSC-Part II examination: Girls bag top three positions
Islamabad, Aug 08, 2008: Girls outclassed boys by clinching top three
positions in Higher Secondary School Certificate Part II (HSSC-Part II) annual
examination, conducted by the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary
Education (FBISE).
A total 36,171 students sat for the examination and
28,455 – 78.74 percent - got past it, said a press release issued here on
Thursday.
Girls clinched 12 out of top 17 position in all five groups -
pre-medical, pre- engineering, science general, commerce and humanities.
In general, Zunaira Maryam (Pre-Engineering Group) of Army Public School
and College, Sargodha Cantt, secured the first position by obtaining 1,007
marks.
Ayesha Aziz (Pre-medical group) of Army Public School and
College, Rawalpindi, stood the second with 1,005 marks and Sidra Riaz
(Pre-medical) of the same institution third with 1,002 marks.
In science
general group, Maria Ejaz stood first obtaining 1,001 marks. Maria Ikram Kiani
got second position with 979 marks and Sara Jamil came third with 922
marks.
In pre-engineering group, Farah Maham Arshad secured the second
position with 999 marks and Muhammad Ibrahim Wasiq Khan clinched third position
bagging 995 marks.
In pre-medical group, Zahra Iqbal and Fahad Zafar
shared the third position securing 997 marks each.
In commerce group,
Sarosh-e-Dost stood first with 907 marks and Hafiz Umair Latif second with 877
marks. Asma Aslam came third with 859 marks.
In humanities group, Sara
Ahmed secured the first position obtaining 892 marks while the second position
was shared by Hafiz Saifullah Khan and Fabaiha Umar who bagged 887 marks each.
Mah Jabeen stood third with 882 marks.
The candidates could learn their
results on cell phones and internet also.
The 19 students whose result
has been withheld for want of fee or eligibility are advised to settle these
matters.
The board has also announced that HSSC supplementary examination
2008 would commence from October 14. This year, 17 unfair-means case were

All schools to reopen on August 11
Rawalpindi: Executive District Officer (EDO) Education Rawalpindi Chaudhary Muhammad Yousaf has directed
relevant authorities to open all male and female schools around the Rawalpindi
District from August 11 to celebrate Independence Day on August 14 and Universal
Primary educational day on August 15. He issued these directives while
addressing the emergent meeting here in Rawalpindi the other day. District
Education Officer Secondary (Elementary) male and female, deputy DEOs and AEOs.
DEO Elementary Female Rawalpindi Madam Naseem Altaf assured EDO Education
Rawalpindi that all female schools would be re-opened from August 11. The News
