Punjab University BA, Bsc exam results leaked
PU results leaked
Lahore, Aug 21, 2008: The Punjab University (PU) breached secrecy by leaking results of the
bachelor's examinations before they were to be officially announced on August
22.
Several students alleged that clerical staff from the examination
branch were involved in the leaking of results and asked the authorities to take
action. A number of students who had given Ba/Bsc examinations claimed on
Wednesday that the clerical staff and some PU officials were releasing the
result. Muhammad Salman a student claimed that a number of his friends had
obtained their results by using contacts within the PU examination branch. He
said that it was a crime to leak the result, but unfortunately this had been
happening in the PU for the last three days. He also said that if the
authorities were unable to keep the result a secret then there was a problem in
the examination system. Noorulain Khan, another student, said that she was at
the university to try and get her result, as some of her fellow students had
acquired it. She said that she had been unable to get the result because she did
not have sufficient contacts. She claimed that she had given her information to
the clerk and he had assured her that he would be able to inform her of her
result very soon.
Controller: A PU official from the examinations branch
said that the rumors were true and several students, with the help of university
staff, had learnt their results. He said that some clerks were receiving a fee
for the service and that this had been happening for years. He alleged that this
year some superior officials had asked clerks to get the results of specific
students. He also said that the situation had been mismanaged and no steps had
been taken to prevent it. PU Examinations Controller Zahid Karim Khan said that
no results had been leaked to his knowledge; however, it was possible that some
employees might be involved in it. He said that if any such incident had taken
place, he would take strict notice of it. Daily Times

"it is really true that ba/bsc result eas leaked out 2 days before.i have passed my bsc from national science college gujranwala.our college director had informed us about our result two days before.it is very bad.i request to the chairman of punjab university that it must be strickly taken under notice."
