University of Sindh Jamshoro announced B.Com results
Hyderabad, Aug 06, 2008: Controller of Examinations, University of Sindh
Jamshoro, on Tuesday announced the results of BCom (Pass) Part-II Annual
Examinations 2007.
According to details some 4,347 candidates appeared in
examinations out of which 3,570 were declared pass with 363 securing first
division, 2,892 second and 315 third, while 508 failed in various subjects, and
results of 269 withheld due to objections by conduct and top secret branches of
the Examinations Depart-ment.

IBA-conducted test successful teachers seek letters
Larkana: A large number of candidates who had secured 60 per cent
marks in IBA-conducted test for teachers' jobs held a demonstration at the main
gate of the Circuit House, demanding offer orders.
Muhammed Ali Mangi,
Fakhuruddain Kazi and Shahid Mansoor said that 157 candidates who had passed the
IBA test after obtaining 60 per cent marks had been ignored. Only 181 candidates
had been given offer orders, they said.
Police picked the protesters
prior to the arrival of MNA Ms Faryal Talpur and whisked them away to the Civil
Lines police station but they protested again after police released
them.
Former MNA Anwar Bhutto and EDO education Larkana met the
protesters outside the circuit house and assured them that that they would be
accommodated as soon as the new Schedule of New Expenditure (SNE) was
approved.
Later Ms Faryal Talpur also met the protesters and assured them
that they would be given offer order within a week after the approval of
SNE.

KU students week & M.Sc. examination forms
Karachi: Prof Pirzada Qasim, Vice-Chancellor, University of Karachi (KU),
has approved the holding of a Students Week from August 15 to August 18. All the
classes will be suspended after 11:30 am to allow the students to participate in
different programmes during the week.
The week is being organised with
the coordination of the chairpersons of different departments and the KU
Students Advisor Dr Nusrat Idrees. The different programmes will be: Qir'aat,
Hamd and Na'at competition, Declamation Contest (English and Urdu), Seminar,
workshop, conference, Mushaira and Bait baazi, Quiz Competition, Cooking and
Photography Competitions, Rubaru (a programme, in which a prominent personality
will be asked probing questions by the students).
KU examination: The
University of Karachi (KU) will accept the examination forms and fee of M.Sc.
(Home Economics) from August 6 to August 20, 2008.
KU's essay contest The University of Karachi is conducting a bilingual essay competition. The topic of the essay is "Challenges
of the 21st century for the Muslim Ummah".
This was announced by a
spokesman for the KU on Tuesday.
He said that the contest was being held
on the directives of the vice-chancellor, Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza
Siddiqui.
It will be held under the auspices of the Karachi University's
office of students' adviser.
Those wishing to participate have been asked
to submit their essays at the office of the students' adviser by Aug 15 through
the chairpersons of their respective departments.

Class 10 marks sheets collection schedule
Karachi: The Board of Secondary Education Karachi on Tuesday
announced that marks sheets pertaining to SSC Part-II (Class X) Science group
annual examination-2008 would be ready for collection from Aug 9 to 12
onwards.
All recognised secondary schools have been asked to follow the
town-wise schedule of collection of marks sheets given below:
Secondary
schools of New Karachi, North Nazimabad, Gulberg, Liaquatabad, Jamshed, Gulshan,
and Shah Faisal towns could collect the marks sheets of their respective
students on August 9. Schools situated in Landhi, Korangi, Malir, Bin Qasim and
Gadap towns could collect the marks sheets on August 11. For schools in Keamari,
Site, Baldia, Orangi, Lyari and Saddar towns August 12 has been fixed as the
collection date.
Heads of all the recognised secondary schools have been
requested to send their representatives with authority letters to collect the
marks sheets from the Conference Hall, Block 'B' of the board between 9:30am to

FUAAST Seminar on Karachi through centuries
The Department of Sindhi, Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUAAST) will hold a seminar on
"Karachi through centuries" on Aug 7.
According to a FUUAST announcement,
the seminar will be presided over by the vice-chancellor of the FUUAST, Dr
Mohammad Qaisar, while Sindh Minister for Culture and Tourism Sassui Palejo will
