Hyderabad BISE announces intermediate results
Hyderabad, Aug 21: Students of private schools have again snatched all positions
in the Higher Secondary Certificate part-II (class-XII) annual examination-2009
of pre-medical and pre-engineering groups. According to the results
announced by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Hyderabad, on
Thursday, not a single student of government schools secured any position in
pre-engineering and pre-medical groups, but students of only two government
schools snatched positions in the science general group.
Pre-medical result distinction
Among boy students, Mohammad Yassar of Public School Hyderabad obtained the
first position with 949 marks while Ghulam Hassan of Rahim Public School Badin
secured the second position with 915 marks. Umair Masood of SZABIST Intermediate
College of Nawabshah stood third with 913 marks. Among girls, Yumna
Ahmed of Hayat Girls College Hyderabad secured the first position with 941
marks, Kanza Islam of Superior College of Science, Hyderabad, stood second and
Amreen of College of Excellence for Girls, Latifabad No.6, secured the third
position with 938 marks.
Pre-engineering result distinction
Hyderabad: Among boy students, all the first three positions were bagged by students of
Superior College of Science Hyderabad. Among girls, first and third positions
were bagged by students of College of Excellence for Girls, Latifabad No.6,
while the second position was secured by a student of County Girls College,
Hyderabad. Mohammad Saad Shaikh secured the first position with 953
marks while Mohammad Faizan grabbed the second position with 949 marks. The
third position holder of this group is Mohammad Naeem Memon who obtained 945
marks. All belong to Superior College of Science, Hyderabad. Among
girls, Nimra Shahab of College of Excellence for Girls, Latifabad No.6, topped
with 930 marks. The second position holder is Paras Abbasi of County Girls
College, Hyderabad, with 926 marks. She was followed by Nimra Rehman of
Excellence for Girls, Latifabad No.6, who secured the third position with 925
marks.
Science General result distinction
Hyderabad: Among boys, Sagar of The Educator College, GOR
Colony, Hyderabad, secured the first position with 807 marks. Mukkaram Ali of
Government Higher Secondary School, Halepota, obtained the second position with
793 marks and Ahmed Wahaj Buland Khan The Educator College, GOR Colony, obtained
the third position with 779 marks. Among girls, Munira of County Girls
College, Hyderabad, grabbed the first position with 873 marks while the second
position was shared by students of Government Nazareth Girls College, Hyderabad.
Malhar Neha and Anam obtained 812 marks. The third position went to Nida Ahmed
with 811 marks, who belongs to Latif Niazi Memorial Higher Secondary School,
Latifabad No.11. Dawn

Another student held with pistol
Hyderabad: In a crackdown launched by the Jamshoro police against
troublemaking students, yet another student was arrested and booked under
section 13-D of the Arms Ordinance for possessing an unlicensed pistol.
According to the police, Ghulam Mohiuddin Bajeer was arrested from the
campus of the University of Sindh. The university authorities confirmed the
arrest and said that Bajeer was a final year student of Zoology department.
Sources said that Bajeer belonged to the Jeay Sindh Students Federation
(Areesar). Later, JSSF-A activists held a protest demonstration outside
the administration block of the university, demanding release of Bajeer.
A delegation of the activists called on university registrar Saleh Rajar
who told them that there would be no compromise on the issue of arms and the
university would not interfere in any such case in which a student was caught by
police red-handed. The Jamshoro police have become active against
miscreant students of different universities located in their jurisdiction after
a clash between the activists of the JSSF-A and the Sindh People's Students
Federation at the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology campus,
killing Asadulah Ansari of the JSSF-A and injuring three activists of the SPSF.
On Wednesday, a student of the MUET, Rameez Aftab Ansari, was arrested
by the Jamshoro police for keeping an unlicensed pistol. On Tuesday a former
student of the Sindh University was nabbed on the same charge.

Mehran University Admission suspended
Hyderabad: The Mehran University of Engineering and Technology authorities have
suspended the provisional admission of Rameez Aftab Ansari, a first year student
of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, on the registration of an FIR against
him for possessing a unlicensed pistol. The university administration
has also issued the student a show-cause notice, asking him to explain in seven
days why his admission should not be cancelled. Dawn
