Abdalians share top position in RBISE SSC exams

ISLAMABAD, Aug 2: Cadet College Hassan Abdal students shared top position in Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education's (RBISE's) Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Annual Examination, 2007.

Abdalians Ahmed Hassan Malik s/o Muhammad Saeed (roll no 104574) and Saqlain Saleem s/o Muhammad Saleem (roll no 104614) secured 800 marks each out of 850 marks. RBISE Examinations Controller Humayun Iqbal announced the SSC annual examination result in a ceremony held at the Radiant Secondary School, Kurri Road. Muhammad Bilal Ashraf s/o Mohammad Ashraf Anjum (roll no 149336) of the Saddiq Public School, 6th Road, Rawalpindi, stood second by obtaining 797 marks, while Sheeza Manzoor Sahi d/o Chaudhry Manzoor Sahi (roll no 134006) of the Radiant Secondary School for Girls, Iqbal Town, Rawalpindi stood third by securing 796 marks.

In Science Group Boys, Ahmed Hassan Malik s/o Muhammad Saeed (roll no 104574) and Saqlain Saleem s/o Mohammad Saleem (roll no 104614) shared first position as they both obtained 800 marks each, while Muhammad Bilal Ashraf s/o Muhammad Ashraf Anjum (roll no 149336) stood second by obtaining 797 marks, while Muhammad Abuzar s/o Ijaz Ahmed (roll no 149338) got third position by obtaining 795 marks.

In Science Group Girls, Sheeza Manzoor Sahi d/o Chaudhry Manzoor Sahi (roll no 134006) stood first by securing 796 marks, Anam Abrar Kiani d/o Abrar Ali Kiani (roll no 134950) stood second by obtaining 791 marks, while Ansa Rasheed Mir d/o Rasheed Mir (roll no 134951) and Yumna Ijaz Malik d/o Mohammad Ijaz Malik (roll no 139794) shared third position by securing 790 marks each.

In General Group Boys, Muhammad Altaf s/o Mohammad Sultan (roll no 142453) got first position by securing 710 marks, while Akbar Ali s/o of Zulfiqar Ali (roll no 150897) stood second and obtained 679 marks. Muhammad Shareef s/o Muhammad Yar (roll no 165139) and Aamir Mehmood s/o Banaras Khan (roll no 107893) shared third position by obtaining 671 marks each.

In General Group Girls, Raheela Bibi d/o Ali Hussain (roll no 139403) stood first by obtaining 752 marks, while Tahira Naz d/o Mohammad Kazim (roll no 154344) stood second by obtaining 746 marks. Tayiba Sultan d/o Sultan Muhammad (roll no 110377) stood third by getting 739 marks.

The overall pass percentage in the examination was 48.12 percent while girls pass percentage was 57.1 percent and the boys 40.12 percent. Total 48,596 candidates out of 94,353 failed and among them 30,698 were boys and 17,898 ere girls. The total number of regular students (boys and girls) was 18,714 while the number of private candidates was 29,882. Rawalpindi District Nazim Raja Javed Ikhlas while addressing the ceremony said that health and education were a major focus of the district government. He said that 2,500 vacancies of teachers in the district would be filled on a priority basis, adding that the local government had also decided to provide Rs 350 million to the schools damaged in the earthquake.
