Admissions dates for FA, FSc not to be extended
RAWALPINDI, Aug 11: The district government has no plans to extend the
date for FA and FSc admissions in the city colleges, District Education Officer
(Colleges) Muhammad Saadullah said here on Friday.
He said,
however, that if any college in the district received applications less than the
available number of seats, the principal of that college had the right to extend
the admission date. "The last date for FA and FSc admission applications in all
district colleges is August 11," said Saadullah. He said the first merit list
would be displayed in all colleges on August 16, while the second and the third
lists would be displayed on August 25 and September 3 respectively. He advised
students to get admissions in colleges or higher secondary schools close to
their houses instead of seeking admission in famous colleges. "There are four
boys and 16 girls colleges in the city, but parents want to send their children
only to selected colleges like Gordon College, Government Postgraduate College
Asghar Mall, Viqarun Nisa College and Government College for Women Satellite
Town," said Saadullah, adding, "As these colleges cannot accommodate all the
students, parents complain that the number of colleges in the city is not
according to the need." He dispelled the impression that only two boys and girls
colleges in the city were providing students with quality education. Daily times
