Care students shine in Lahore exams
LAHORE, Aug 2: Zeeshan Ali, who secured top position in the Lahore board;
Hassan Awais, who secured third position; and Zohaib Hassan, who came in fourth,
have one thing in common: they belong to Government High School Shahdara, which
has been adopted by non-government organisation (NGO) Care.
Care executive
director Seema Aziz said on Wednesday that the NGO had adopted 172
government schools in the province and that it was working to improve their
condition and the standard of education. She said Care had been working for
education since the past 16 years and was educating more than 200,000 students.
She also said 1,600 teachers worked in schools adopted by the NGO. She said Care
gave scholarships to deserving students for acquiring higher education. She said
that besides providing teachers, Care also provided funds for buildings and
furniture. Daily times
