City School issued contempt of court notice
KARACHI, Aug 29: Justice Maqbool Baqer of the
Sindh High Court issued a contempt-of-court notice to the management of City
School, North Nazimabad, Block F branch, on a contempt plea filed by a resident
Anwar Khan.
Moulvi Yousuf, counsel for the petitioner, had earlier
submitted before the court that a bench of the SHC had earlier restrained the
school management from new admissions and shifting students from any other
branch to this campus. This order was being violated, the counsel for the
petitioner submitted. The bench issued notices to the alleged contemnor for Sept
4.
Meanwhile, the Sindh Secretary of Education was directed by a
division bench of the Sindh High Court to appear along with the Rules of
Business before it on Sept 5. The order came during the hearing of a
constitutional petition. The National Educational Society moved the contempt
plea, maintaining that a bench of the SHC, allowing their petition two years
back, ordered that Aziz National School run by the society be handed over back
to them. The order has yet to be implemented, the petitioner maintained. Daily times
