Colleges admission date extended
Aug 15: The Centralised Admission Policy deadline has been extended up until August 25
for admissions to first year classes for 2007-08, the Director, Colleges, and
Chairman, CAP, Rafiq Siddiqui said.
Earlier, August 21 was the
last date for submission of placement forms. The dates were extended as Board of
Secondary School Education failed to issue marks sheets to the students of SSC
Part II Science students due to their internal mess that occurred during its
results.
The BSEK has announced that it will start distributing marks
sheets to the schools town-wise from Wednesday and this process will continue
till August 20. He also said that the CAP members will sit at the headquarters
from August 22. The PECHS College for Women which has been declared as the
admission committee's headquarter will provide all the information regarding
admissions would be collected.
As many as 86,000 seats in different
faculties have been allocated for first year (class XI) admissions at 119 male
and female colleges and 32 higher secondary schools in the city. The admission
process started on August 6 with sale of admission forms and brochures at 41
branches of the HBL, while the first merit list is expected to come out in the
first week of September.
Some 0.2 million admission brochures have been
printed for availability in the designated bank branches. Price of each set of
booklet along with the placement form is Rs 100, which is Rs 25 more than last
