Colleges to be monitored after student clashes
Karachi, Aug 19: Law-enforcement agencies have been positioned in various colleges
in the city after a clash between these two groups of students at the JPMC and
the SMC.
Strict measures have been taken around the most sensitive
colleges of the city, which include Islamia College, Dawood Engineering College,
SM Law College and Premier College.
In order to avoid more violent
clashes among students, most college administrations plan on monitoring students
strictly. At a meeting attended by representatives of various colleges, it was
decided that any student participating in political activities will be taken to
task.
College principals have issued instructions to student wings that
are politically active on campus, warning them to control students or be
prepared for accountability.
The imposition of a complete ban on all
those political activities which result in clashes and thus loss of innocent
lives was also discussed at the meeting.
These measures were undertaken
so that upcoming admissions in city colleges and universities can be conducted
smoothly. The news
