Clear all colleges of criminals: Ibad

KARACHI, Aug 26: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan expressed his grief and sorrow over the killing of a medical student at JPMC and directed officials concerned to clear all educational institutes and hospitals of criminals.

He said this Saturday while presiding over a high-level meeting at Governor House. The meeting was attended by Home Advisor Waseem Akhtar, Chief Secretary Sindh Aijaz Qureshi, Rangers DG Major Gen. Javed Zia, IG Police Ziaul Hassan and the home secretary. He reviewed the incident that took place at the JPMC Saturday morning, which left an MBBS first-year student dead and five others wounded.

Taking serious notice of the incident, he asked law enforcement agencies to initiate action against the outlaws. "They must exert pressure to end such activities and play their due role for the safety of patients at hospitals and students at educational institutes." The governor warned that stern action would be taken against police officials who were found negligent.

Authorities informed the governor that SMC and DMC student and doctor hostels have been vacated. Ibad asked them to find the criminals and added that the law and order situation should be maintained in all educational institutes of the province at all costs.

He underlined the need to boost coordination among the JPMC administration, relevant colleges and law enforcing agencies. Ibad directed the home secretary to ensure a code of ethics at all educational institutes and remove graffiti, flags and banners immediately. ppi
