Clear all colleges of criminals: Ibad
KARACHI, Aug 26: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan expressed his grief
and sorrow over the killing of a medical student at JPMC and directed officials
concerned to clear all educational institutes and hospitals of
criminals.
He said this Saturday while presiding over a high-level
meeting at Governor House. The meeting was attended by Home Advisor Waseem
Akhtar, Chief Secretary Sindh Aijaz Qureshi, Rangers DG Major Gen. Javed Zia, IG
Police Ziaul Hassan and the home secretary. He reviewed the incident that took
place at the JPMC Saturday morning, which left an MBBS first-year student dead
and five others wounded.
Taking serious notice of the incident, he asked
law enforcement agencies to initiate action against the outlaws. "They must
exert pressure to end such activities and play their due role for the safety of
patients at hospitals and students at educational institutes." The governor
warned that stern action would be taken against police officials who were found
negligent.
Authorities informed the governor that SMC and DMC student and
doctor hostels have been vacated. Ibad asked them to find the criminals and
added that the law and order situation should be maintained in all educational
institutes of the province at all costs.
He underlined the need to boost
coordination among the JPMC administration, relevant colleges and law enforcing
agencies. Ibad directed the home secretary to ensure a code of ethics at all
educational institutes and remove graffiti, flags and banners immediately. ppi
