Hamida calls on CM for first time since powers clipped
KARACHI, Aug 9: The provincial minister for college education, Dr Hamida
Khuhro, called on the Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim at the Chief
Minister House on Wednesday. It was her first meeting with the chief minister
since June 28 when Rahim had curtailed her powers that she enjoyed as a
full-fledged minister of the education department.
The meeting was held a day
after Rahim took away the powers of transfer and posting of up to grade 18
officers from Khuhro and delegated them to the secretary education, Sabhago Khan
Jatoi. Khuhro had gone to the US on June 28, the day when the chief minister had
officially curtailed her powers. She returned, however, on August 2, but did not
join her office. Neither CM House nor Khuhro reveal details of the meeting. Daily times
