Education official pleads innocence to governor
Karachi, Aug 9: Prof Salahuddin Ahmed Jamal, Codifier in the Board of Secondary
Educational, who was charged with tampering with the marks sheets of SSC Part II
science results, has sent a letter Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad seeking
justice from a higher authority.
In his letter, he clarified his position
saying that being a retired professor with an unblemished record throughout his
career, he was falsely implicated by the board authorities in alteration of SSC
Part II Science results, which he said was wrong.
He said that he was
being appointed as codifier for class X scripts of Science and General group
both and discharged his duty in a befitting manner. As regard mistakes concern
he was confident that only 0.1% could have been occurred that too were
corrected.
He said it was more shocking for him than surprising to
observe that it was flashed in the print and electronic media that 2500
candidates were declared absent and consequently failed due to the mistake of
codifier.
However, denying charges leveled against him by the board
authorities, he asked governor to constitute an independent inquiry, as he felt
that the authorities had dragged me into the dirt for no fault to cover their
inefficiency and laxity.
He emphatically stated in a letter that no
officers of the board, especially the top three slots, Secretary, Chairman and
Acting Controller of Examination should not be inducted into an impartial
inquiry if conducted by the Governor, he concluded.
It must be mentioned
here that a large number of irregularities surfaced in the SSC Part II Science
result, which jolted entire board officials and students who thronged to the
board offices. With these disturbing circumstances, the board official issued a
communiquÈ holding codifier responsible for all this mess. The news
