Hafsa students demand release of Maulana Aziz
ISLAMABAD, Aug 22: The students of Jamia Hafsa staged a protest
demonstration in front of the Supreme Court building here on Tuesday and
demanded the release of former Khateeb of Lal Masjid Maulana Abdul
Aziz.
Dozens of students of Jamia Hafsa participated in the protest and,
while chanting anti-government slogans, were demanding the immediate release of
Maulana Abdul Aziz along with his relatives and his reinstatement as Khateeb of
Lal Masjid with dignity and honor.
Administrative members of the Jamia Hafsa
Asia Bibi, Sumaira Sherazi and Ashia Bibi, while talking to media persons, said
that government should be held accountable for the massive killing of innocent
children.
They also demanded the reconstruction of the demolished Jamia
Hafsa. "We would continue the mission of Abdul Rasheed Ghazi for the enforcement
of Islamic system in the country", they resolved.
Later, all the students of
Jamia Hafsa dispersed peacefully. The nation
