Private institutes excel in Hyderabad HSC-II exams

HYDERABAD, Aug 21: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Hyderabad, announced on Monday results of Higher Secondary School Certificate Part-II (Class-XII) Annual Examination 2007 of pre-engineering, pre-medical, science general and commerce groups.

Students of private educational institutions took the lead in pre-engineering and pre-medical groups by beating government college students.

PRE-ENGINEERING: Among boys, Zeeshan Anwar, of the Cadet College Petaro bagged 1st position by obtaining 944 marks, Haseeb Ahmed of the same college secured second position by obtaining 943 marks while Hamza Kamal Ansari of the preston Intermediate College Latifabad-2 Hyderabad bagged third position by obtaining 942 marks.

Among girls, Rida Abbasi of the preston Intermediate College Latifabad-2 Hyderabad secured 1st position by obtaining 943 marks, Samreen Khan of the College of Excellence for Girls Latifabad No.6 secured 2nd position by obtaining 932 marks, while Kanchan of the Hayat Girls College Hyderabad bagged 3rd position by obtaining 927 marks.

In pre-engineering group, a total of 8,272 candidates appeared in examination out of which 5,986 were declared successful in all six papers. Those who cleared examinations had been calculated at 72.36 per cent.

PRE-MEDICAL: Among boys, Mohammad Haroon Mujtaba of the Superior College of Science Hyderabad secured 1st position by obtaining 941 marks, Shoaib Hassan of the Rahim Public School Badin bagged 2nd position by obtaining 933 marks, while 3rd Position was shared by Shoaib Ahmed of the National College of Science and Arts Badin, Syed Ubaidullah and Mohammad Armughan of the Preston Intermediate College Latifabad No.2 Hyderabad as each secured 931 marks.

Among girls, Ramlah Mehmood of the College of Excellence for Girls Latifabad No.6 Hyderabad bagged 1st position by obtaining 953 marks, 2nd position was captured by Safia of the Beacon House Public School Hyderabad by gaining 951 marks, while 3rd position was secured by Sadaf Faiz of the College of Excellence for Girls Latifabad No.6 Hyderabad by getting 940 marks.

A total number of 13,485 candidates appeared out of which 9,797 were declared successful. About 72.65 per cent passed the examinations.

SCIENCE GENERAL: Among boys, Rakesh Kumar of the Government College Qasimabad got 1st position by obtaining 711 marks, Mansoor Randhjawa of the Saifee College of Computer Science Latifabad grabbed 2nd position by obtaining 686 marks, while Nabi Bux of the Government College Qasimabad bagged 3rd position by obtaining 678 marks.

Among girls, Hifza Karim of the Government Nazareth Girls College Hyderabad secured 1st position by obtaining 839 marks, Faiza Jawaid and Fariya of the Government Nazareth Girls College Hyderabad secured 2nd and 3rd positions by obtaining 824 and 801 marks, respectively.

In science general group 658 candidates appeared out of which 297 were declared pass. Result of four candidates had been withheld. Successful candidates were calculated at 45.14 per cent.

COMMERCE: Among boys, Mohammad Sajid of the Government S.S Commerce College Hyderabad bagged 1st position by obtaining 814 marks and Mohammad Arsalan of the Government S.S Commerce College Hyderabad and Fareed Ahmed of the Hiast College Latifabad no.2 Hyderabad secured 2nd and 3rd positions by obtaining 811 and 791 marks, respectively.

Among girls, Quratul Ain and Paras Shams Chandio of the Hiast College Latifabad no.2 secured 1st and 2nd positions by obtaining 820 and 805 marks, respectively while 3rd position was bagged by Benazir of the Government Girls College Hyderabad by obtaining 801 marks. Dawn
