KU promotes some teachers
Karachi, Aug 31: The syndicate of the University of Karachi (KU) has approved a
few promotions of teachers and appointments of the chairpersons of two
departments in a recently-held meeting on campus.
Associate Professors,
Dr Nasir Tauheed of the Department of Computer Science and Dr Rafiq Alam Khan
from Pharmacology have been promoted as full professors. Dr Raheela Najam of
Pharmacology, Dr Zulqarnain and Dr Uzma Farman of the Department of Urdu have
been promoted to associate professors. Dr Mustafa Kamal who was the in charge of
the Biotechnology department for a considerable period of time has been
appointed as chairman. Dr Malahat Kaleem Sherwani has been given an extension as
the chairperson of the Department of Library and Information
Sciences.
The syndicate, on the suggestion of Dr Rafiq Alam Khan, has
revised the medical rules for employees of the university.
The statute
of the Umair Basha Institute of Technology (UBIT) has been approved and
Barrister Shahida Jamil has been appointed the convener, while Dr Rafiq Alam
Khan is the member of the statute committee. The News
