Suit against KU VC, Aali dismissed
KARACHI, Aug 21: Additional District and Sessions Judge (ADJ-V), Central,
dismissed Monday a defamation suit filed by Prof. Asghar Ali against Dr Pirzada
Qasim, who is the vice chancellor of the University of Karachi and Pro-Vice
Chancellor Jamiluddin Aali, a renowned poet.
The plaintiff filed suit seeking
damages worth Rs 30 million against each of the defendants. The suit came up
after a show-cause notice was served upon Dr Asghar, leveling some allegations
against him. Moin Azhar Siddiqui appeared for the defendant. The bench dismissed
the suit for damages Monday. Daily times
