Karachi University
Karachi, The Teachers' Union of the University of Karachi held a
meeting here on Wednesday in which the decision of imposing the Model University
Ordinance in the Balochistan University has been condemned.
The KU
teachers demanded that the decision should be taken back
immediately.
They stressed the fact that "by imposing such a law on a
university in Balochistan, the government is trying to distinguish between
universities."
The union also demanded that the vice-chancellor of the
university, a retired army officer, be removed from his post.
The union
urged the Higher Education Commission's Chairman Dr Attaur Rehman, to take
action against this decision. Dawn
