12 PU affiliates have zero pass result
LAHORE, Aug 23: Twelve colleges affiliated to the Punjab University (PU)
have a zero pass result in the BA/ BSc examination. Not a single student of Wise
College of Girls, Gulberg, Lahore; Government Millat Degree College, Faisalabad;
Government College, Isakhel, Mianwali; Prince Salman College of Professional
Education, Islamabad; Government Waris Shah College, Gandila Sher Khan;
Himayat-e-Islam College for Women, Multan Road; Government Degree College,
Baseerpur, Okara; Government Muslim Girls College, Narowal; Government Degree
College, Okara; Government Degree College, Pindi Bhattian, and Iqra Girls
College, Sargodha, passed the BA/BSc exam.
Out of the other affiliates, 95
colleges got pass results below 20 percent. The PU vice chancellor told
reporters during the prize distribution ceremony that the reason for the low
pass percentage was the new anti-cheating methods used by invigilators during
the exams, which had ended the cheating culture and stopped colleges from
