Residents, however, said that after the publication of the news that the PU wastage had been dumping in the Mustafa Town and that resultantly residents of the area had been suffering various sicknesses, PU authorities told Mustafa Town residents that publicising the issue would not help them solve the problem and the university would keep dumping waste in their area.

Resident of the area Shahid Mushtaq said that PU resident officer Malik Muhammad Zheer, estate officer Muhammad Saleem Akhtar, sanitary officer Muhammad Ali and more than one dozens PU security guards came there house and they threaten his family on the publication of the news. He said PU authorities told them that they would now bury the whole area in garbage and would take action against those who would complain. He said that his whole family was disturbed due to the harassment. Ahmad Yar Welfare Society President Imran Gul said that he would demonstrate in front of Lahore Press Cub against this act of PU authorities. He said the threatening of the PU authorities was a violation of human rights and that the whole community would agitate against it. He said everyone in the area was disturbed because of the garbage heaped by the university but PU had not even shown a little interest in solving the problem. Daily times
