Inter results: 68pc pass across Punjab
LAHORE, Aug 16: The eight boards of
intermediate and secondary education (BISE) across the Punjab on Wednesday
declared intermediate results in separately held ceremonies with an overall
average 68.76 pass percentage.
Faisalabad BISE showed the best
performance with 73.46 pass percentage, while BISE Bahawalpur remained the
lowest with 61.70 pass percentage. Overall, 14 girls and 12 boys secured the top
three (overall) positions in the eight boards. Girls got top three positions in
BISE Gujranwala, while boys bagged top three positions in Sargodha board.
The various boards' results are:
BISE Lahore: As many as 97,301
appeared in intermediate examination and 70,713 candidates have passed which
amounted to 72.67 percent. The last year it remained 67.25 percent. Three top
positions were clinched by girls and one by a boy (third position was shared by
two girls). Ifrah Saeed got overall top position by securing 1019 marks.
Muhammad Mehran Khizar got 1,004 marks and stood second. Saba Asgher and Mariam
Saif shared third position with 1,001 marks.
BISE Rawalpindi: The
overall pass percentage was 70.27. Total 40,985 candidates appeared and 28,781
passed. Muhammad Omar acquired 990 marks and got first position. Muhammad Bilal
obtained 974 marks and got second position. Mawra Masood secured third position
with 973 marks.
BISE Multan: The overall pass percentage was 65.32
percent. Girls of a private college bagged the top three positions. Total 42,530
candidates appeared in the examination and 27,782 were declared
successful.
BISE Faisalabad: Overall pass percentage was 73.46 percent.
In total 48,961 candidates appeared in the examination, out of which 35,967 were
declared successful. Two boys and two girls bagged overall top three positions
(third position was shared). Ali Muqtadir stood first with 996 marks. Waqas Ali
Khan stood second with 991 marks. Two girls Tehreem Fatima and Maryam Ashraf
shared the third position by bagging 986 marks each.
BISE Gujranwala:
Overall pass percentage was 69 percent. Three girls clinched top three (overall)
positions.
BISE Sargodha: Overall pass percentage was 67.26 percent.
Total 18,348 candidates appeared and 12,341 passed the examination. Boys bagged
top three positions.
BISE Bahawalpur: Overall pass percentage was 61.70
percent. In total 28,296 candidates appeared in the examination. Two boys and
one girl secured top three positions.
BISE Dera Ghazi Khan: The pass
percentage was 70.32 percent. Total 18,714 candidates appeared in the
