Some hostels closed as per routine: QAU
ISLAMABAD, Aug 4: The Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU) administration on
Friday said that the university had seven hostels for around 1,600 students and
as a routine, some of these hostels would be closed during summer
vacation.
According to a QAU press statement, only M Phil and PhD
students doing research were allowed to stay in hostels.
The statement
said presently there were about 300 students, who had been given notices several
times that some hostels and all canteens would be closed during summer vacation.
"From August 1, only one mess would be open on a 'no loss no profit' basis," the
statement said, adding that the students would deposit money in advance. "This
is being done to discourage illegal occupants of the university hostels," the
statement added. The QUA administration said the utility services would not be
cut off. Daily times
