B.Com exams started in Karachi
Karachi, Dec 14, 2007: The annual examinations 2007 of B.Com part I and II (regular)
will commence from Friday, December 14 and some 54,000 students are likely to
take part this year.
According to a Karachi University (KU) notification
issued here on Thursday, the examination centres have been formed in 36
different departments for males, while a total of 13 centres have also been
established in city's colleges for females.
The papers would be
conducted from 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. and from 2.30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on
Fridays.
KU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui has
constituted vigilance committees to ensure transparent holding of papers.
Moreover, the university has announced that the four-year BS (evening
programme) admissions in 10 departments would commence from December 17 to
December 27, 2007. The departments include agriculture, bio-technology, botany,
education, chemistry, psychology, special education, statistics, Urdu and women
studies, while one-year diploma certificate would be offered in child
psychology, human behaviour and Urdu.
Meanwhile, the university has
invited applications for Syeda Mubarik Begum Scholarships for regular candidates
for the year 2008-09. The desiring candidates can collect and submit scholarship
forms at the office of Deputy Registrar (Academic) after having attested them by
concerned department chairman by February 20, 2008. Dawn
