DUHS vacations
KARACHI: The Dow University of Health Sciences on Sunday
announced that the DUHS and its affiliated institutions would remain closed on
account of winter vacations from Jan 1 to 12.
It was pointed out that no
academic activity would take place during this period. APP
KEMU postpones exam
The King Edward Medical
University (KEMU), Lahore, has postponed MBBS First Professional Examination,
2007, which was to be started from December 31 (today). According to a KEMU
spokesman, the new dates for the examination will be announced later. The News
PU BCom exam schedule
The Punjab University
will start B Com Part-II, Supplementary Examination, 2007 from January 26, 2008.
According to a press release, a notification has been issued in this regard
while detailed date sheet will be issued later.
NED notification
The Registrar, NED
University of Engineering and Technology, said on Sunday that consequent upon
emergency holidays announced by the government, the NED University has
re-scheduled several programmes. Now, Orientation for newly-admitted students of
the 2007-08 batch will be held on Tuesday, January 1, 2008, instead of December
31, 2007. He further said that classes of the new academic session for newly- as
well as already-admitted students will commence from Thursday, January 3, 2008,
instead of January 1. Furthermore, he informed that all University employees
(teaching and non-teaching) are directed to attend the University on Monday
December 31 in connection with preparations for the Orientation Day. Students,
however, are not required to come on Monday, he said. The News
Sindh University Exams postponed
HYDERABAD: The Controller of Examination, Sindh University
Jamshoro has postponed the examination of Mohammad Medical College Mirpurkhas
till further orders due to unavoidable circumstances.
In a statement
issued here on Saturday, he said the new schedule for holding examinations will
be notified in due course of time.
TRAINING COURSE: Sindh
Agriculture University Tandojam said the Department of Food Sciences and
Technology is organising a three-day training course from January 1-3 for
training rural women to preserve vegetables and fruits.
A spokesman of
the university said rural women from all over Sindh and those associated with
different social welfare organisations will be imparted detailed training in
preservation of vegetables and fruits so that the same could be used during off

UHS postpones today's MBBS paper
LAHORE: The University of Health Sciences (UHS) has postponed the
Forensic Medicine and Toxicology supplementary paper of the MBBS examination
scheduled for Saturday (today), said a press release issued on Friday. The
decision was made after the announcement of the three-day mourning at the death
of Benazir Bhutto. The examination will now be held on January 5, it said. Daily Times
AIOU exam put off
Islamabad: Allama Iqbal Open
University (AIOU) has postponed its annual examination for the year 2007 for an
indefinite period. "The annual papers (from matriculation to PhD) were supposed
to start from December 31, 2007 throughout the country, but now they have been
postponed," Media Officer AIOU Ubaidullah Mumtaz said on Sunday. The new
dates of annual examination will be announced in due course of time.
Test for the post of Assistant Sub Inspector cancelled
Islamabad: Islamabad Police have decided to cancel the
selection test for the post of Assistant Sub Inspector, which was scheduled to
be held here today (Monday). According to the police spokesman, the decision has
been taken keeping in view the current situation in the country. The new
schedule for the test will be announced later. The News
Riphah University exams postponed
ISLAMABAD: The examinations of Faculty
of Engineering and Applied Sciences of Riphah International University scheduled
to commence on December 31 have been postponed due to current crisis in the
country, says a press release. These examinations have now been rescheduled for
