Students pay price of educationists' tussle

ISLAMABAD, Dec 10, 2007: The tug of war between the so-called educationists has put the future of 34 students at stake as they have been failed by the examiner aimed at taking revenge from the Principal of the Government College of Management Sciences, Abbotabad.

The aggrieved students approached us and told that they had become the victims of the rivalry of two persons, resultantly, lost two precious years of their educational career.

According to the details, as many as 34 students of Government College of Management Sciences appeared in the practical examination of Accounting Information System (AIS) in 2006. The Hazara University deputed Hamid Khan as their examiner.

The students said that the examiner failed all of them and many were given zero marks in the practical paper while most of them had obtained more than 60 per cent marks in the theory paper of AIS. "The result was not less than a shock for us and when we tried to find out the reason, we came to know that the examiner took a revenge, as, Principal of the college once failed the relative of the examiner", one of the students narrated.

They described that they again appeared in the practical paper of AIS in 2007 but the result was not different from that of previous one. The new examiner namely Amjad-ur-Rahman again failed all of them.

"The examiner himself told us that he was pressurised by the higher authorities to do so", said the students. They also showed a copy of letter, written to the Vice Chancellor, Hazara University Mansehra in which they sought justice but, according to them, so far no action was taken by the high-ups.

The copies of the application also forwarded to Governor NWFP, Chief Minister NWFP and Controller Examination Hazara University. Having not positive answer from them, the students are here in the Capital City to seek justice from the rulers of the country. The Nation
