HEC all set to strengthen FUUAST
Dec 25, 2007: Chairman, Higher Education Commission (HEC), Dr Atta-ur-Rehman, has said that
the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST), is a
symbol of national unity, and necessary measures have been taken to make it a
strong institute.
He said this while addressing the thirteenth meeting of
the university senate here on Monday. He said the problems being faced by the
university will soon be resolved and hoped that the university will play a
pivotal role in academic researches.
HEC chairman informed that they
will send three names out of five to Chancellor President Pervez Musharraf for
appointment of one of them as a vice chancellor of the university. He hoped that
the image of university will be brightened with the services of three-member
committee, formed for promotion of education, research and infrastructure.
Dr Atta constituted a committee to devise a 15-year comprehensive vision
plan for the university, comprising Dr Iqbal Chaudhry and Dr Qamarul Haq who
will soon send the plan to HEC.
The meeting was attended by incharge vice
chancellor Dr Syed Kamaluddin, acting registrar Dr Qamarul Haq, Dr Iqbal
Chaudhry, Dr Nabi Bux Baloch, Dr Qasim Jan, Prof Fateh Mohammad Malik, Dr Juma
Khan, Prof Arshia Salahuddin, Prof Abdul Malik and Chaudhry Muhammad Ilyas and
