NUST sets up new institution
ISLAMABAD, Dec 27, 2007: National
University of Science and Technology (NUST) has set up a new institution,
Professional Development Centre (PDC), which will start its first course soon.
The purpose of starting such an institution for professionals already working in
different organisations on high posts in all over the country, Mansoor Malik,
Director General (Marketing and Industrial Relations of NUST), who was appointed
as first Director General of PDC, said in an interview.
He said,
"The foundation of the department was established three months back and we are
going to start our first course shortly."
All the programmes are based on
short courses and the duration of every short course is four months. Four
major disciplines of the courses are Medical, Engineering, Information
Technology (IT) and Industrial Management. "PDC run all the classes in evening
time and the each session will be of three hours", he added.
"We are
starting these courses from graduation level and the credit hours of all these
courses will be counted for the degree level." According to him, these courses
