Punjab Educational institutions to open on Jan 3
LAHORE, Dec 31, 2007: Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Justice (r) Ejaz Nisar has
announced that all government and private educational institutions up to
university level of the province will reopen on January 3.
He was
talking to reporters at the Chief Minister's Secretariat on Sunday after
presiding over a high level meeting held to discuss law and order situation.
He hoped that the overall situation will get normal till January 3 and
gas, petrol and diesel will be available to transporters so that students and
their parents may not face any transport problem.
He said death of
Benazir Bhutto was very unfortunate incident adding there are no words to
express grief over this tragic incident. He said reaction over this tragic
incident was natural. He said all necessary steps would be taken to ensure the
protection of people's life and property. He said that no miscreant would be
allowed to take law into his hands. Police and administrative departments have
been mobilised to maintain law and order, he added. The News
