MBA entry test rescheduled
Karachi, Dec 20: The MBA entry test scheduled for Friday could not be
held due to bad weather conditions.
The admission committee of the
Karachi University evening programme has announced that the postponed test will
now be held at 3pm on Sunday (Dec 21) at the Faculty of Arts, University of
Karachi.
Science conference The Dean, Faculty of Science,
Prof Dr Shahana Urooj Kazmi, has announced that the 35th "All Pakistan Science
Conference" will be held on Saturday at 9am in the auditorium of the
International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui will be the chief

Sindh University Admission test to its various disciplines
Hyderabad: The Sindh Agriculture University has announced that
test for admissions to its various disciplines will be held at different
district headquarters on Dec 21.
According to the schedule, students of
district Tharparkar, Umerkot and Mirpurkhas will appear in the test at
Government Comprehensive High School Mirpurkhas; candidates belonging to the
Badin district at Government Islamia College, Badin; those from Sanghar at
Government Degree College, Sanghar; students hailing from Naushahro Feroze at
Government Degree College, Naushahro Feroze; those from Nawabshah at S.M.Khawaja
High School, Nawabshah.
Other centres include: Phool Bagh Mall Road,
Khairpur; Government Islamia College Sukkur; Government High School, Kandhkot
(for students from Kashmore and Kandhkot); Islamia Public School/College,
Ghotki; Mehran Hall, Jacobabad; Government High School-2 Shikarpur;
Qambar-Shahdadkot and Larkana at Government Degree College Larkana; Government

Federal Urdu University for Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) hit by financial crisis
Karachi: Federal Urdu University for Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) is finding it increasingly difficult to
continue its research programmes for doctoral degrees amid the prevailing
financial crisis.
Data collected depicts that as many as
122 students have been working on their research projects for M Phil and PhD
degrees under the supervision of FUUAST teachers. However following significant
funding cuts from the Higher Education Commission students are now finding it
difficult to complete their research projects.
According to statistics
available, 70 students are registered in the science group of M Phil and PhD
programs being offered at the university. The breakup of the statistics is as
follows:
Eleven students in Botany, eight in Chemistry, one in the
computer sciences, four in Geography and Geology, ten in Mathematical sciences,
one in Microbiology, eight in Physics and 23 students in Zoology have registered
for research.
In the arts group the number of the students registered for
M Phil and PhD programs is 52. The breakup of the statistics is as follows:
One each in commerce, economics, general history, Islamic history, law,
and psychology, three in Education, and International Relations, 13 in
Islamiyat, two each n Mass Communication and Social work, 12 in Political
Science, and nine students from the Urdu department have registered for
research. Teachers Societies of the faculty of Science and Arts Presidents Prof
Syed Asghar Ali and Prof Ashraf Khurram, respectively, stressed that the
government should take immediate measures to pull the university out of the
