Karachi voilence: Schools, colleges, universities schedules

Schools, colleges closed
Karachi, Dec 2: All the public and private schools and colleges of the city will remain closed on Tuesday (Dec 2) on account of the prevailing law and order situation, provincial education secretary Rizwan Memon said on Monday night.

Karachi University postponed papers
Karachi: University of Karachi announced postponement of all papers of degree classes (BA, BSc and BCom) regular candidates examinations, MBBS first professional (part-A) and the semester examinations (including those of evening classes) which were scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday (Dec 2 and 3) in view of the prevailing law and order situation.

A KU spokesman said on Monday that the new dates for the postponed papers would be announced later.

Nine exam centres shifted to campus
Karachi University Registrar Prof Raees Alvi has said that the university administration has shifted nine examination centres of degree classes' candidates to the campus. The decision, he said, had been taken keeping in view the hardship being faced by the students, particularly female, in reaching the centres and returning home. A notification, identifying the colleges and centres concerned, would be issued on Tuesday, he added.

He further stated that offices of the university administration would remain open although teaching activities on the campus were suspended for holding semester examinations.

Sindh universities open
Karachi: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad has said that all the public and private sector universities in the city will remain open on Tuesday, adds APP.

The statement was issued by the Governor's House on Monday evening. Meanwhile, the governor has established contacts with all political parties and groups in the city for the formation of peace committees at the lower level.

NED winter vacation schedule
Karachi: The NED University of Engineering and Technology has announced that the winter vacation will commence on December 3.

The registrar of the institution said on Monday that December 2 would be a working day for the faculty members.

Karachi: Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET) have also postponed the examinations that were to be held today (Tuesday). New dates will be announced later. Jinnah University For Women (JUW) has announced the postponement of examinations that were to be held today (Tuesday). New dates will be announced later.

BSEK extends acceptance date for SSC-I examination forms
Karachi: The Board of Secondary Education Karachi has extended the date for submission of SSC-I examination forms (Science and General groups) both for regular and private candidates without a late fee to December 17.

The forms can be submitted with a late fee of Rs200 up to December 31, Rs500 up to January 15, Rs1,000 up to January 31 and Rs1,500 up to February 14, according to an announcement made on Monday.

University of Sindh Convocation
Hyderabad: The Academic Convocation of the University of Sindh will be held on December 4 at Allama I.I.Kazi Campus Jamshoro.

The controller of examination has advised all those candidates who have applied to receive their degrees and medals in the convocation, to attend convocation rehearsal to be held on December 3at 10 am. The university point buses will ply at 8am from Old Campus Hyderabad for Jamshoro. Dawn
