KU BS second year examination new schedule

KU BS second year examination rescheduled
Karachi, Dec 12: Dean Faculty of Arts, University of Karachi (KU), has announced that the examination of BS second year which was scheduled on December 10, 2009 will now be held on December 16, 2009 (Wednesday) at the same time.

It is pertinent to mention that a large number of students faced certain difficulties while reaching the university on the day as no public transport was available due to the transport strike and the notification from the Dean came just one hour earlier.

Several students complained that if the administration had to cancel the examination they should have done it earlier.

Sindh to get cadet colleges including girls colleges
Karachi: Four cadet colleges are being established in Ghotki, Dadu, Gadap and Kandhkot, besides two girls’ cadet colleges in Nawabshah and Larkana, Sindh Education Secretary Rizwan Memon told a meeting presided over by Education Minister Pir Mazharul Haq on Friday.

Presently, Sindh has four cadet colleges in Petaro, Sanghar, Larkana and Pano Aqil, the secretary said. Brig Asif Akhtar and Col Akhtar Ahmed Khalili also attended the meeting. Haq assured that the Sindh Education and Literacy Department would continue extending cooperation to the armed forces for establishing cadet colleges.

Ad hoc lecturers: Separately, Haq has directed the concerned authorities to send the cases of such ad hoc lecturers who could not submit their original testimonials for certain reasons or could not appear for interview earlier for being out of country to the Sindh Public Service Commission for an interview. Convocation of IMSA
Hyderabad: Sindh Education Minister Pir Mazharul Haq on Friday said 4,000 schools were still closed in the province while efforts were afoot to make half of these functional.

Talking to newsmen and addressing the convocation of the Institute of Modern Sciences and Arts (IMSA) at the old campus auditorium of the Sindh University, the minister hoped that half of the closed schools would be reopened soon. He said directorates for registration of private educational institutions were being established in the province.

The Hyderabad directorate had been set up while others at Mirpurkhas, Sukkur and Larkana would be set up soon.

Fuuast to hold a moot
Karachi: The Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) are holding a moot on “Role of journalism in the promotion of Sindhi literature” here at the Gulshan-e-Iqbal Campus on Saturday.

A communication issued by the In-charge Federal Urdu University Sindhi Department Dr Inayat Hussain Leghari, In-charge Department of Sindhi at FUUAST said in a press release here on Friday that the moot would be inaugurated by the VC University of Karachi while Sindh Information Minister, Shazia Marri, will be the chief guest.

Advocate General (AG) Sindh, Mohammed Yousuf Leghari Marri, would preside over the 2nd session of the moot while Minister for Culture and Tourism, Sassi Palijo, would chair the 3rd session. The news
