AIOU admission forms: COMSTECH workshop
March 5 last date for submitting admission forms
Islamabad, Feb 29, 2008: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) would receive admission forms
alongwith prescribed fee for the Semester Spring 2008, from Matric to Ph.D level
programmes in all disciplines till March 5.
In this regard, all students (incumbent and fresh) are advised to submit their admission forms along
with prescribed fee upto mentioned date.
The admission details for the said programmes had already been published in national, local
and regional newspapers on February 1st.
Besides, admission forms to continue students have also been dispatched at their given addresses,
if any student who did not receive his/her continue admission form, is advised
to collect it from the nearest Regional office and the main campus of AIOU.
Admission form can also be download from web site of the University.

COMSTECH to hold workshop on nanomedicine, bioethics education
Islamabad: Organization of Islamic Conference Standing Committee on Scientific and
Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) is organizing a week-long international
workshop on nanomedicine in the second week of the upcoming month.
The workshop is being held in collaboration with Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and
National Institute for Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering from March 13 to 20
here.
The workshop aims
at providing a platform to researchers from universities and research institutes
of OIC member states to share their knowledge and develop collaborative research
programs in nanomedicine.
Young faculty
members/doctors, researchers and senior students working at the interface of
nanoscience, nanomedicine or nanbiotechnology are eligible to apply for
participation.
The aspiring
participants are required to have at least masters' degree in
physical/biological sciences or bachelor degree in medicine with one year of
research experience.
COMSTECH has
notified universities and research institutes of OIC region to send maximum two
nominations.
Meanwhile, COMTECH
is also organizing a national workshop on "Bioethics Education in Pakistan" from
March 27 - 29 March, 2008.
The workshop would
be held in collaboration with Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and Center
of Biomedical Ethics and Culture (CBEC) of Sindh Institute of Urology and
Transplantation.
The objective of
this workshop is to familiarize healthcare professionals and other stakeholders
with ethical frameworks in clinical care.
The health care
professionals including physicians, nurses, hospital administrations, policy
makers and social scientists have been invited to attend workshop.
Distinction
Rawalpindi: Saadia Khalid and Riffat Nawaz secured first and
second positions in the Rawalpindi College for Girls in the MA (Islamic Studies)
Examination of the University of Punjab by obtaining 624 and 612 marks
respectively, says a press release. Irum Mumtaz obtained 475 marks in the MA
(English) Examination and stood third in the college. The News
