Dow MBBS exams: KU agreement

Karachi, Feb 23, 2008: The controller of examination of the Dow University of
Health Sciences on Thursday announced that the MBBS (Final Professional) annual
examination, 2008 would now begin from March 4.
Earlier, the examinations
had been schedule for Feb 28.
All the candidates registered with the DUHS
Institute of Health Management have also been advised to deposit the prescribed
fee, Rs650, and submit their enrolment forms with all the required documents. App
KU signs with Iranian uni to expand ties
Karachi: The rector of Zahedan University in the southeastern
Iranian province of Sistan-Baluchestan and the rector of the University of
Karachi have signed an agreement on scientific and research cooperation in
Zahedan, provincial Hamun TV reported on 21 February. According to the BBC
Monitoring Trans Caucasus Unit, a ceremony was held in Zahedan on February 21 to
sign a bilateral agreement to expand scientific and research relations between
Iran and Pakistan, Hamun TV said. Speaking at a joint meeting, the rector of
Zahedan University said that the two universities will cooperate in various
fields of science and culture, including exchange of professors and students and
research issues, Hamun TV said.
Zahedan University rector Dr Akbari spoke about
educational, scientific and research facilities in Zahedan University and said
that the university has 13 faculties and one educational institute. He added
that this university is one of the scientific centres in eastern Iran, the
television reported. He went on to say that Zahedan University is cooperating
with various universities of the world, including German, Swedish, Canadian and
Afghan universities, according to the television. In turn, Karachi University
rector Siddiqi spoke about close relations between the two countries and said
that Iran and Pakistan have ethnic, religious and cultural similarities, the
television said. He said that Karachi University is one of the best educational
centres in Pakistan. Karachi University has 11 faculties and 1,000 researchers,
he added. The Karachi University rector also said that 24,000 students are
studying at Karachi University and its branches. A video showed Iranian and
