HEC converts CGPA system
Islamabad, Feb 09, 2008: The Higher Education Commission has converted 'CGPA' held by
the candidates on the scale of 4.00, 5.00 and 6.00 into percentage of
marks/grades/divisions as granted by universities in public and private sectors
in Pakistan.
A press release issued here Friday said the decision to this
effect was taken as per recommendation and approved formula of its 1st meeting
of Equivalence and Accreditation Committee held on 5 and 18 April,
2003.
It has also been decided that in future, for fulfilment of
requirements of eligibility for appointment of faculty in universities and
requirement of admission in M.Phil/Ph and other similar requirements, 'CGPA'
will be used for graduates who completed their degree requirements under
semester system. The News

"CGPA system is good but in literature it is difficult to get the required GPA. many student of literature facing problems due to GPA. kindly make some other system for examination and result. so the student of literature will not suffer during and after their studies."

"HEC Stands for Headache. The policy makers in HEC has no knowledge about policies. They are Just Signatures men. An Example for that is, Policy of HEC, a student have 45% in his F.A or F.Sc. Certificate can take admission in BS(Hons). But after BS he cant take the advantage of scholarship because he have not 50% marks in F.A or F.Sc Certificate. So if a student not deserving for that why you give him admission."
