IIU, KIET convocation: Comsats ceremony
IIU convocation to be held in April
Islamabad, Feb 11, 2008: The International
Islamic University (IIU) has planed to hold its sixth convocation in April.
Degrees would be awarded to the students who have completed their graduation
during 2006-07 academic session. Graduates are advised to submit their clearance
forms along with a copy of national identity card to the examination branch.
They are also advised to deposit a sum of Rs1,000 each for degree and security
for the convocation robes. However, the security would be refunded on return of
robes after deduction of Rs200 on account of rental charges. All graduates are
advised to report to the respective examination branch in person not later than
March 1.
381 students conferred degrees at KIET
Karachi, Feb 11, 2008: The fifth convocation ceremony of the Pakistan Air Force
Karachi Institute of Economics & Technology was held at PAF-Korangi Creek
Campus the other day.
As many as 381 graduates were conferred on degrees
in the disciplines of Business Administration, Computer Science and Engineering,
said a press release.
A total of 279 degrees were awarded to the
students of the College of Management Sciences, including 129 in BBA and 150 in
MBA. Of the remaining, 78 degrees were awarded in the College of Computing &
Information Sciences including 40 in BCS and BS, 32 in MCS and MBA-MIS and six
in MS. The remaining 24 degrees were awarded to the BE Electronics
students.
Air Marshal Mirza Zafar Hussain, AOC, SAC, PAF was the chief
guest on the occasion who also awarded Gold and Silver Medals to the
distinguished students. The chief guest emphasised that students must broaden
their vision by going for the higher education. He also stressed upon the need
of strong human resource development as mandatory for the economic and social
well begin of the country.
Those who were awarded Gold Medals included
Owais Ahmed Tanveer, MBA; Ambreen Aftab, BBA; Maryam Mansoor, BE; SohailImran,
MS-CS; Muhammad Yasin, MCS and Madiha Mehmood, BS-CS. Those who received Silver
Medals included Rizwan Elahi, MBA; Benish Thakur, BBA; Muhammad Adnan, BE;
Khurram Shahid, MS-CS; Muhammad Iftikhar, MCS and Jamila Nasim, BS-CS.
Comsats holds award ceremony
Islamabad, Feb 10, 2008: Comsats Institute of Information Technology held its 6th award
ceremony for merit scholarship at HEC auditorium, Saturday and awarded
scholarship to students of different programmes, says a press release.
Rector CIIT Prof. Dr. S. M. Junaid Zaidi was the Chief Guest for the
ceremony. An amount of Rs.2 million approximately was distributed among 121
position holders of Comsats IIT. Controller of Examinations Sohail Ghani has
organized the award ceremony. The ceremony was attended by the proud parents and
senior faculty members of CIIT.
Students holding first, second and third
positions in BBA, BCE, BCS, BSM, Bio-Informatics, BS Electronics, BS (Telecom
Engineering), BS (Computer Engineering) and B. Architecture were awarded
Rs22,000, Rs16,500 and Rs11,000 respectively. Students of MBA holding first,
second and third positions were given 26,000, 19,500 and 13,000 respectively.
Multiple awards were also given to the students, securing identical positions in
different classes. These scholarships were given to students on the basis of
scoring highest CGPA within their classes. The News
