3 IJT activists kicked out of PU hostel
Lahore, Feb 12, 2008: The Punjab University (PU) administration has suspended
the hostel allotment of three Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) activists for beating
two PU students.
The three IJT activists, Nawazish, Tahir and Gohar
Nawaz, had beaten Wasim Akhtar Jatoi and Adnan, students of PU Hailey College on
Monday. The victims accused IJT's nazim for Hostel 15 Muhammad Usman and his
fellow activists of beating them (the victims).

said the people who had beaten Jatoi and Adnan were not IJT
members.
Adnan said that Usman, IJT's nazim for Hostel 15, and a dozen of
his friends, including Nawazish, Tahir and Nawaz, had beaten him when he was
sitting with his cousin. He said his cousin was his senior in the college and he
was taking notes from her. He said that IJT activists beat him and abused his
cousin.
He said the IJT activists also told him to sign a written
statement that he would not sit with her in the department again. He said the
IJT activists also beat Jatoi who had come to his help. PU Hall Council Chairman
Prof Dr Saeed Ahmad Nagra said that after a preliminary inquiry, the
university had decided to suspend the hostel allotments of the three IJT
members. He said a disciplinary committee had been formed which would report in
15 days for further action. When asked if the guilty students were IJT members,
he replied, "I am not sure about that." Daily Times
IJT University cabinet formed
Peshawar: Islami Jamait Tulba (IJT) University of Peshawar
new cabinet constitution has been completed and newly elected IJT nazim of the
university Mian Syed Habib-ud-Din Kakakhel presided over the students
organisation first meeting here on Sunday. IJT Campus nazim Sohail Ahmed Babar
Rahi also attended the meeting. For session 2008-09 Shakeel Ahmad Mohmand
elected as General Secretary (Muhtamid), Hayat Khan as finance secretary and
Syed Asghar Ali Shah as press secretary. While other IJT nazims for various
department and hostels of University of Peshawar were included Abdul Sattar for
New Hostel Block-A, Nasir-ul-Islam Farooqi for New Hostel Block-B, Gulzar Ahmed
for New Hostel Block-C, Abid Ali for Hostel-1, Hafiz Muhammad Tariq for
Hostel-2, Zahid Ali for Sheikh Zaid Islamic Centre, Waqar Ahmad for Faurmacy
Department, Abdul Zahir for Faculty Building, Hassan Khan for Science Block,
Fayyaz Ahmad for Computer Science Block, Latif Shah for Law Faculty, Imran Khan
for Oriental Block, Ghasanul Haq for Geology Block, Kalimullah for BBA Honours
and Atif Aman for Biotechnology Block. Addressing the newly elected IJT cabinet
on the occasion, Sohail Ahmed said that in the present critical situation of the
country, the people could only eye over the students organisation which was a
hope for them. He said that IJT would not leave any stone unturn to secure the
country's ideological and geographical borders at any cast and would give more
and more sacrifices in this regard.
The IJT campus nazim reiterated the students
to give their full attention over their studies as the future responsibilities
of the country lying over their shoulders. He said that the IJT was the only
students representative organisation which could only fight for the rights of
the students, adding that in this regard the body had rendered uncountable
sacrifices. He further urged newly elected Islami Jamait Tulba cabinet to come
on front line and resolve the students long standing problems and strive hard. F.P Report
