PU LLB exams, results: PhD at 77
Lahore, Feb 13, 2008: The Punjab University
has issued the date sheets of Bachelor of Law (LLB) examination. According to a
press statement, the LLB Part-I Supplementary Examination, 2007, will be held
from February 25 to March 7, 2008. The LLB Part-II Supplementary Examination,
2007, will be conducted from Feb 26 to Mar 10, 2008.
PU results
The Punjab University
has declared the results of several examinations. According to a press
statement, these exams are BSc Applied Geology Final Professional 2nd Annual
Examination, 2006, and 1st Annual Examination, 2007; BEd (Special Needs),
Session Annual, 2005-2006, MBBS Second Professional (New Re-Organised Scheme)
Annual Examination, 2007, MBBS Second Professional (Re-Organised Scheme) Annual
Examination, 2007 and MPhil, Part-II, Annual Examination, 2004. The results are
available at the university website www.pu.edu.pk.
Recieves PhD at 77
Lahore: At the age of 77 years of age, Dr Munir Ahmad Tariq received his
PhD degree in Vaccinology from the Department of Microbiology, University of
Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore.
According to a press
statement, he completed his research work on the topic 'Immunoprophylaxis of
Foot and Mouth Disease in Bovine' under the supervision of Prof Dr Khushi
Muhammad, director of WTO-Quality Control Laboratory of the UVAS. Dr Tariq got a
bachelor's degree (BVSc) in 1953 from this institute, the then College of
Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, Lahore.
He did MSc in Microbiology from
the West Pakistan Agriculture University in 1969. He is pioneer in isolating
Mycoplasma Capri from lungs of frank cases of contagious caprine pleuropneumonia
(CCPP). During his PhD programme, he donated Rs 150,000 to improve research
laboratories of the Department of Microbiology and some of the funding was used
to improve cell culture laboratory for research. The News
