High fee of private schools irk parents
Islamabad, Feb 04, 2008: The administration of private school in Islamabad has
recently doubled the monthly tuition fee. All the same, the quality of education
imparted in the private schools has been deteriorating. Private schools doubled
the tuition fees for class 5 to class 8 students. Sources said that the private
schools were charging Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,000 monthly.
Sources said that
since there were no checks on the owners of the private school, they were
charging high fees from students. However, they added that teachers of the
private schools were being paid salaries in the range of Rs2500 to Rs3000. Due
to the negligence of the Education Department, private school owners had made
education a profitable business, they added. Parents said that private schools
had failed to maintain high standards of education, as they hire incompetent
teachers on minimum salary. Daily Times
