EDO transferred over inefficiency
Lahore: Executive District Officer (Education) has been transferred and
his services have been placed at the disposal of education department following
confirmation of charges of inefficiency and lack of work against him.
Sources further said Caretaker Minister for Education Punjab
Dr Mira Phailbus had written to the Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab to transfer
Zahid Hussain Khan because the officer was not performing his duties efficiently
while there were a number of complaints against him with the education
department.
It is further learnt that the minister had also made a
surprise visit to the office of EDO (Education) a couple of months ago and had
found the official absent while the office was not kept neat and clean which did
not leave a positive impression on the minister.
When contacted, Kazi
Afaq Hossain confirmed that he had issued transfer orders of EDO (Education)
Lahore on Thursday following the ECP approval in this regard. "His services have
been placed at the disposal of the department", he said, adding "he may be
transferred to some other place".
Secretary further said the decision
was taken, as the minister had complained that EDO was found absent from his
office when she visited his office sometimes ago.
He ruled out any
possibility that the said official was transferred on charges of embezzlement.
Dr Mira Phailbus said the EDO was transferred, as he was not performing his
duties efficiently. "Absence from office is one of the reasons", she replied to
a question.
She further said there were complaints about lack of work by
the said official, adding his transfer was recommended by everyone.
"We
need quick and efficient people and perhaps Lahore did not help him (EDO) out to
prove his efficiency", the minister concluded. The News
