Schools in capital told to cancel upcoming functions
RAWALPINDI, Feb 26(Daily Times): The Islamabad Capital Territory Police has directed
private schools to cancel any upcoming functions due to security reasons.
According to sources, Beacon House, The City School and Froebel had scheduled
functions in the upcoming days, but the ICT Police directed the schools to
cancel them due to the law and order situation in the capital.
Sources said that
the schools' administrations refused to accept the offer to deploy more police
personnel around the schools, as it would create panic among students and
parents. Sources added that the police had cancelled old passes of motorists
providing pick and drop facilities to students of these schools, and had issued
new ones, and had also deployed plain clothes policemen around major private
schools.
