>Declamation contest at Habib Public School
KARACHI, Feb 21(The News): The Habib Public School on Tuesday hosted the 16th All-Pakistan
Inter-School Bilingual Contest with participation of students of 16 mainly
privately run schools of Sindh. Defence Authority (DA) Public School, (O & A
levels), won the championship trophy for the first time.
In the English
declamation contest, Arousha Shahzad of Habib Girls' School bagged the first
prize. Preh Memon of the Mama Parsi School clinched the second position and
Rabia Afzal of DA Public School (O & A levels) secured third position. Cadet
Faizan Ahmed of Cadet College, Petaro, was awarded the special prize for
participating in the English contest.
In the Urdu declamation contest,
Cadet Adnan of Cadet College, Petaro, was declared first. Abrar Yasin of BVS
Parsi High School secured second position while Sana Ahmed of DA Public School
(O & A levels) got the third prize. Tahreem-un-Nisa of Hamdard Public School
was given the special prize for participation in the Urdu contest.
A
faculty member of the Department of Genetics, University of Karachi, Dr
Shakeel-ur-Rahman Farooqui, was chief guest on the occasion who, speaking at the
prize distribution ceremony, praised the role of the Habib Public School in
promoting the art of public speaking among the school-goers.
Principal
of the host school Qazi M Saleem, speaking on the occasion, expressed his
gratitude for the participating school for their support in organising the event
every year on a regular basis.
