53% satisfied with government education services
ISLAMABAD, Feb 21(APP): Most people are satisfied with government education
services in their area, according to a recent survey conducted by the Devolution
Trust for Community Empowerment (DTCE). According to an official source, 53.3
percent of households were satisfied with the education services, 36.4 percent
were dissatisfied, 6.2 percent were neither satisfied nor dissatisfied while 4.1
percent said they had no government education services in their area. The
official said that households in Sindh and Punjab were satisfied with the
education services, while those in Balochistan and NWFP were slightly less
satisfied. He said in both the provinces, the survey was limited to male
respondents only, while in Balochistan, it was limited to urban areas. The
official said that the national survey covered around 53,960 households
representing 424,841 people in 430 communities. Information was also collected
from community profiles, schools, health facilities, union nazims, councillors
and male and female focus groups. The survey covered 10,049 households (76,842
people) in Sindh, 12,752 households (112,894 people) in Balochistan, 11,925
households (99,631 people) in NWFP and 19,234 households (135,474 people) in
Punjab.
