HEC offers scholarships for bachelors and masters
ISLAMABAD, Feb 20(Daily Times): The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has invited
applications for scholarships at the BSc, BSc (Hons) and MSc levels under the
Talent Farming Scheme for 2007.
Eligible students studying in BSc, BSc
(Hons) Part-I must have 60 percent marks in science subjects in FSc, while MSc
students (Part-I) must have 60 percent aggregate marks in science subjects in
BSc. BSc students will be paid stipend of Rs 1,000 per month and MSc students Rs
1,500 per month, apart from a book allowance of Rs 1,000 for BSc, BSc (Hons) and
Rs 1,500 per year for MSc students, according to an HEC statement issued here on
Monday.
The candidates will be required to take an aptitude test
conducted by the HEC in Islamabad, Lahore, Multan, Quetta, Peshawar, Hyderabad,
Faisalabad or Karachi. Test centres may also be established in Attock, Mardan,
Mansehra and Gilgit subject to a suitable number of candidates and an
appropriate place to conduct the test. Test scores have 40 percent weightage,
while previous academic achievements have 60 percent. Application forms can be
obtained from HEC's regional centres and the HEC website. The last date for
submission of application forms is March 15. Incomplete or un-attested documents
and applications will not be entertained.
