Inter-collegiate competitions start
ISLAMABAD, Feb 8 (The Nation) - Four-day "Inter-Collegiate Talented Students Competitions" started here on
Wednesday at Islamabad Model College for Girls F-6/2.
The students of twin
cities are contesting in Qirat and Naat competitions, flower arrangement, Urdu
and English debates, painting exhibition, computer graphics and drama
competitions.
On day first, competitions of Naat, Qirat and flower
arrangements were held. In Qirat competition thirteen participants and in Naat
same number of contestants from thirteen different colleges of Rawalpindi and
Islamabad participated. The hall was echoing with holy verses recited by the
students.
Ammara Aziz from F.G Post Graduate College Kashmir Road RWP got
first position in Qirat and second prize went to Sadia Khalil from I.C.G. F-6/2
while Misbah Aziz from I.M.C.G.F-7/4 was awarded with the third prize.
In
Naat competition, first position went to student of F.G. Margalla College F-7/4
Saira Khatoon and Terbia Shah of Post Graduate College RWP got second prize
while Syeda Asifa Bukhari from F.G. Post Graduate College F-7/4 was at third
position.
Flower arrangement for fresh and dry flowers was also conducted on
the first day of competitions. Flowers of different colours everywhere in room
were giving cooling effect and fragrance of fresh flowers was refreshing the
spectators.
Mehreen Fatima from F.G. Margalla College F-7/4 got first
position in fresh flower arrangements while Saba Naheed from I.M.C.G.F-10/2
clinched the second position and Komal Khurshid from I.M.C.G G-10/2 obtained
third position. In dry arrangements, Sadia Khalid from F.G Margalla College
F-7/4 obtained first prize and second prize went to Hina Zehra from F.G. College
for Women F-7/2 whereas Shumaila Fitma from I.M.C.G.G-10/2.
